who we are

Athlete Wellness Collective (AWC) is a Des Moines-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing athlete mental health and well-being. Founded on the belief that mental wellness deserves the same attention and investment as physical health, AWC works to bridge the gap between athletic performance and psychological well-being.

We believe athletes are people first, and that success in sport should never come at the expense of mental health. Through education, advocacy, and equitable access to evidence-based mental performance services, we are working to create a culture of sport where well-being and performance excellence coexist.

What we do

Athlete Wellness Collective provides evidence-based mental performance training and educational programming designed to support athletes, coaches, teams, and families.

Our services include individual mental performance consulting, team workshops and ongoing programming, and educational workshops for coaches and parents. Grounded in sport and performance psychology, our programming focuses on developing psychological skills, strengthening supportive relationships, and fostering healthier sport environments.

Beyond direct services, AWC advocates for greater awareness of athlete mental health and works to reduce financial and systemic barriers to psychological resources. By partnering with schools, athletic organizations, and community members, we strive to make mental performance education and support accessible to athletes of all backgrounds and competitive levels.

Our goal is not simply to help athletes perform better, but to help them thrive as people— in sport and beyond.
